So many great posts and tips! I need to read the trail running ones because I DO want to start running on more trails, especially since I have 5 week or so left where I can run for fun before marathon training starts.
For those of you training for a marathon (and marathon runners in general), do you run on trails even during training? Do you feel like it slows you WAY down? I run at least 2 min. per mile slower.
I hope these tips were helpful for you! If you have a link to one of your own running tips, please feel free to leave it in the comments so I can check it out and bookmark it for my next roundup.
Stay tuned for a France trip recap – spoiler alert: we only ran once lol.
How many times do you run per week as opposed to cross training? Or do you run every day?

Thanks for including my posts! I just started marathon training and right now I’m running 3x a week. Eventually I think my coach will boost it up to 4, but 3 is good for now because I’m getting in a lot of strength and yoga.

You know what I find on vacation? Often we walk around so much, a run just sounds exhausting. That’s so neat you got to go to France!
Also, I’m humbled that you included my post along with so many other great runners that I respect a lot. I usually run about 3 times a week, because it seems to work the best for my body. I guess every body is different. I love how you included tips for pretty much any runner.

Great tips and info!
I run 3-4x a week, do body circuit/strength training 2x a week, cycle 3x per week and try to fit in yoga and/or swimming 2x a week. I have never been good at running every day.

Thanks for this great “pool” of info
(and thanks for including my Running on the Rain post). About trail running, YES, I almost always run 1-2 minutes slower/mile due to the terrain. Also, I’m horrendously klutzy, so I have to be careful to not be face-planting on the sloping trails or slippery grass.
Kimberly Hatting recently posted…Dam to Dam 2016!
Yes that too! I have fallen before on the trails, like face planted lol. Do you feel like running on trails (even though its way slower) helps you be faster on the roads?
SO many great posts included here! I will definitely be bookmarking this for myself and others!
What a great round-up! Thanks for including my post!
I only run 3 days per week, and I usually do 3 days of cross training // strength training as well. It sounds like a lot of working out, but one day is usually something fun that doesn’t feel at all like a workout!

that’s great! I want to start playing tennis once a week, because like you said, it’s fun so totally doesn’t feel like a workout!
