Six Fitness Events On My Bucket List

A week or so I wrote about the five places I’d like to run in my lifetime, so I wanted to expand on that and talk about different fitness events I’d like to participate in!

There are so many out there, but here are my top 6 that hopefully I can check off my bucket list one day.

RAGNAR RELAY

This would be so awesome. I really don’t know if I could stay up all night and sleep in a van, but regardless it would be such a cool experience. Eventually, I’ll have to make a team or find a team. Going along with this, Hood To Coast would be something I’d consider too. Now to find some runner friends to join me…

WARRIOR DASH

I’ve done a mud run/obstacle course race, but that was about 3 years ago now (wow time flies). I’d like to do another one like the Warrior Dash because it’s only 3-4 miles, and eventually I’d consider a longer one like Spartan Race or Tough Mudder. Funny enough, in the mud run I did, the obstacles weren’t the hardest part, the running was!

HALF-MARATHON OR MARATHON RELAY

My dad likes to run, but he can’t do too long of distances because of back problems. I think a half-marathon relay would be perfect for me, my mom and dad. It’d be a great way to complete a race as a family! I love running with them, so this will definitely happen in the future.

URBANATHLON

This is one Dan and I have been talking about for a while. I really want to do this one day! I know there is one in NYC and it just sounds super cool. Running stairs in Citi Field? Okay, maybe that would be kind of hard, but still. The thing that scares me is that it’s 10 miles! But their “urban obstacles” sound like they would make those miles fly by.

SPRINT TRIATHLON

I wrote about this a couple months ago, but this one is probably what will be the first to happen on this list. I used to say I’d never do a triathlon (I also used to say I’d never do a marathon), but now I’ve been itching to do one. I think my brother will join in as well. We found one about 30 minutes away from me AND in a lake…no way would I do an open water swim in an ocean! We’ll see if I can work on my swimming by then…also, do I need a real bike? I have a little mountain bike. Tips please!

NIKE WOMEN’S HALF MARATHON

So I’ve expressed my feelings about the price tag for this race…it’s a lot of money!! $185 I believe? But I know, I know…it’s an amazing experience and worth it. I think eventually I will try to run one of these. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the DC race (which is closer to me), but running the San Francisco one would my ideal race. I just love that city, and I need a reason to go back :)
